Saltwater Coffee is a New York–based café brand inspired by the calm, minimal atmosphere of Australian coffee culture, particularly that of Melbourne. The brand emphasizes quality, simplicity, and a quiet sense of everyday ritual.

However, the name “Saltwater” can easily be misinterpreted as referring to “salted coffee” or literal seawater, which creates confusion for first-time audiences.

This redesign addresses that ambiguity.

Instead of associating the brand with literal salt or flavor, the new identity reframes “Saltwater” as an atmospheric concept — evoking ocean horizons, light reflections, and gentle movement. Through a refined visual language based on waves, horizon lines, and soft abstraction, the brand shifts from a potentially misleading name to a clear emotional positioning.

The result is a visual system that feels calm, intentional, and contemporary — aligning the name with a sensory experience rather than a literal interpretation.
